The Diamond Painter

Jane Gibbens is an artist and creative educator based in the South Wairarapa.

Trained in the UK in the art of trompe l’oeil, she brings a love of light, illusion, and intricate detail to everything she creates. From large-scale gemstone paintings to playful cocktail pieces and gold leaf accents, Jane’s practice is joyfully diverse. She now shares her passion through relaxed, hands-on workshops — from gold leaf and painting to Kintsugi and collaborative family painting projects — all designed to spark creativity, confidence, and connection.
